In addition to setting up this this website commemorating the Utah Indoor Clean Air Act, this organization has also set up what appears at first glance to be an actual eatery on Main Street in desolate downtown Salt Lake City.  Instead it is just a store front, set up with mannequins sitting at tables adorned with ash trays which gush out smoke from fog machines hiding below.  There are also electric lights illuminating this spectacle from within.

I imagine a similar scene 10 years from now, when a fake diner is set up within a fake run-down commercial space with signs posted asking "What were we thinking, banefully wasting nonrenewable resources to prove a point that was already well received in a location that was all but abandoned?"

(fuck, my browser just exploded and i lost my entire post.  here we go again...)

the DMV is the most godforsaken place in the world.

for starters, our number was 414.  the numbers on the board were 43 and 562.  our prospects weren't very good.  it turns out the person that would bust out the 400's wouldn't even come on board until 1 metric hour after we got there.

then the androgynous troll behind the counter explained that although the car had been inspected earlier this year, it had been more than 60 days, meaning we would not only have to get it done again, but a second trip to the DMV would be required.

and if all of this wasn't enough, utah has just released two new license plates featuring our new stupid slogan and they both suck balls.  and they no longer have the 111 AAA format, but rather a #AA A##.  this means of course i will probably not have a funny or interesting combination (i am just queer for those).

The Gar: A Ken Burns Film

i'm honoring veteran's day by watching ken burns' the war. it's pretty awesome.

also, in order to simulate military rations, i'm eating the meager vegan fare available at maverik. and in order to reenact the psychological damage one receives in a war, i was forced to listen to an acoustic version of the barenaked ladies' hit "one week" while there.

i also coincidentally have diarrhea.

p.p.s. pappy d and i hit the streets yesterday in support of a certain political candidate!  we watched some polls, then knocked on some doors, and then ate pizza.  actually i didn't have any pizza.  but i did walk away with a t-shirt!  the t-shirt seriously irritated my man-nips though.  my shower was painful.  it was all worth it however when our dude kicked the other guy's anus-hole to kingdom come!  hurray for democracy!
